We Can Help Make Orthodontic Care Affordable
We strive to provide you with affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget. We accept various payment options to meet the needs of all patients. Our office accepts payments by cash, and checks, as well as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards.
Please ask us about orthodontics financing options, credit card payments, online payments, and bank drafts. During your complimentary initial exam, we thoroughly explain your financial options to ensure your needs are accommodated.
Insurance
We accept a wide variety of orthodontic insurances. If your dental insurance covers orthodontic treatment, you will receive the benefit of reduced personal costs. Most insurance policies have a lifetime orthodontic benefit that is separate from regular dental insurance. Because insurance policies vary, we will verify with your insurance company the benefits you are entitled to and determine the appropriate course of action.
Once a treatment plan has been established, we will file your claims as a courtesy to you. To help us file your insurance claim, please complete our insurance form. Please remember that orthodontic insurance is a benefit for you and/or your child, and if during treatment your benefits change, you are accountable for all unpaid charges.
Insurance FAQs
- Do I have to file my own insurance claims?
No. Our Financial Coordinator files all insurance claims. She also verifies your benefits before treatment. - How will my insurance company pay for treatment?
Many insurance companies typically make a down payment and then make payments either monthly or quarterly throughout the treatment time. Very few insurance companies make a full payment when treatment begins. - I have two insurance plans. Can I use both to pay for my treatment?
Absolutely. Generally, you will receive all of your benefits from your primary insurance, while your secondary insurance may pay a percentage of the lifetime maximum available. - What happens if I get new insurance during treatment?
Please inform our Financial Coordinator. She will verify your benefits and file a new claim for you. - What happens if I lose my job or change my employment during treatment?
If you lose your job, your benefits will stop and any remaining balance not paid by your insurance company becomes your responsibility. We will work with you to get this balance paid. If your new job offers orthodontic insurance, we will file a claim when you become eligible to receive your benefits.
Medicaid
Many people ask if Medicaid will cover orthodontics. While it will usually only cover the most severe cases, such as patients with cleft lip/palate or those who require jaw surgery, we are sensitive to the situation of our Medicaid patients. We are happy to offer a Medicaid discount in addition to our many flexible financing options. Many Medicaid patients have been able to receive quality orthodontic care at our multiple San Antonio locations and at a price that works for them.
