A Dedicated Orthodontist with Over a Decade of Experience

Hi, I'm Richard Hulme. I'm the owner and orthodontist here at Hulme Orthodontics. I'm the oldest of eight kids and I grew up in Houston, Texas. I was a huge Astros fan growing up, so you could understand if I was pretty excited that they won the World Series last year. After graduating high school, I went to college at Brigham Young University in Utah and even served a two-year mission for my church in Costa Rica, where I learned Spanish. After college, in 1998, I came here to San Antonio to go to the nation's number one dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio dental school. I graduated magna cum laude and I went directly into an orthodontic residency program, where for three years, I studied the specialty of orthodontics. I graduated from my residency program in 2005 and bought a practice here in San Antonio. At the time, it had two locations, and we've now grown to three locations around San Antonio to be able to serve patients better and be closer to our referring dentists. Now, I've been in practice for 13 years and we've treated over 4,000 patients. My wife and I were married in 1998, right as I was starting dental school, and moved here to San Antonio. We've become big Spurs fans since then and even get a chance to go to the games pretty often. I have three kids and when I'm not working, I'm at home with them. I don't do a lot of stuff outside of work and go to church and hang out with my family, but if I had to do something fun, it would definitely be going golfing or going camping with them on one of our scout campouts. That's what really kind of gets me excited about things outside of work. We look forward to meeting you when you come in for your first appointment.
